Thorner: Why It’s Insane to Ask Congress to Call an Article V Convention?

By Nancy Thorner -

Publius Huldah, a Phyllis Schlafly Eagle friend of Nancy Thorner, explains in her recent video how the push for an Article V Convention is the most vicious bait and switch con game of all times.

Publius Huldah is the nom de guerre of Joanna Martin, J.D.  She is a lawyer, philosopher and logician and a strict constructionist of the U.S. Constitution.

As Publius Huldah notes:  "Convention supporters promise that at a convention, we will get amendments to "rein in" the powers and jurisdiction of the federal gov't.  But the real purpose of a convention is to impose a new Constitution."

PH also relates how the National Constitution Center’s Constitution Drafting Project has released three proposed new Constitutions to replace our existing Constitution.

You can read the proposed new Constitutions HERE. These proposed Constitutions would transfer massive new powers to the federal government; would legalize the unconstitutional acts which have been going on for 100 years; and bring about a long list of additional horrors. The Progressive Constitution would make abortion, pedophilia and bestiality constitutionally granted rights!

Most importantly, the National Constitution Center is a quasi-official branch of the federal government.  Here is its website address.  Thus, getting a new Constitution appears to be federal government policy.

Can Congress be trusted?

As PH relates:  "It would be insane to ask Congress to call an Article V Convention.  Do you really want Congress to call a convention where they – Congress – have the power to determine the number and selection process for Delegates?"

“If there is a Convention, we will have handed our enemies the opportunity they need to complete their coup against us!”

PH likewise advises readers to look at the Exhibit List link.  Here's the link.  The link shows original source documents which serve as proof of PH's words.

Common Cause in sync

As stated by Common Cause, mirroring the same fears expressed by Publius Huldah:

"A handful of wealthy special interest groups are just a few states away from calling a new constitutional convention. Under Article V of the Constitution, Congress is required to convene a constitutional convention if two-thirds of state legislatures (34 states) call for one.

No convention has ever been called under Article V for a reason: there is just too much at stake.

An Article V constitutional convention is a dangerous path that puts all of our cherished rights, civil liberties, and freedoms at risk. Other than the convention that drafted our Constitution, there has never been a constitutional convention in the nation’s history; there is nothing stopping a new convention from rolling back our constitutional rights and civil liberties. Our right to vote, our right to free speech, our reproductive rights, our citizenship rules, and more could all be up for grabs.

With no rules and complete uncertainty about the constitutional process, an Article V convention would cause political and economic chaos. There is no language in the U.S. Constitution to limit a convention to one issue, no guidelines for rules to govern a convention, no rules on who picks the delegates and how they are selected, no guarantee that the American people would be equally represented, and no limits on corporate special interest influence.

Ultimately, this process would lead to long and costly legal battles, uncertainty about how our democracy functions, and likely economic instability.” End of quote.

Updated account of states passing COS

See here an updated account of the 15 states that have passed a Convention of States.

All states should rescind it.  A recent example is the rescission by Delaware of all of its prior resolutions for a Con Con.

Unfortunately, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has endorsed the Convention of States.  Does DeSantis even understand what he has signed on to?  He must be informed of the truth.

Conclusion

It is up to patriots to stop the push for a Convention in the upcoming year.  State Legislators do NOT understand this issue.  They don't look under the surface – accordingly, they are easily deceived.

You must be the Hero who learns this issue and turns the lights on for your State Representative and Senator.

As Thomas Jefferson said: “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. The functionaries of every government have propensities to command at will the liberty and property of their constituents. There is no safe deposit for these but with the people themselves; nor can they be safe with them without information. Where the press is free, and every man able to read, all is safe.” – Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Colonel Charles Yancey (6 Jan1816)

About the pen name (pseudonym) of Pubius Huldah

Pubius:  "The_Federalist_Papers were written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay  under the collective pseudonym “Publius” to promote the ratification of the United States Constitution."

Huldah:  "‘Huldah’ means ‘a burrowing animal’.  Scholars, in their own way, burrow, seeking out and examining little pieces of knowledge/wisdom to nourish the mind and heart. Huldah was just such a scholar in the Bible."

Joanne Martin, J.D. is both a defender of our Constitution and one who seeks as a scholar to find the truth as it relates to the Constitution.
