As the death toll continues to rise in Israel after a surprise attack has left nearly 900 dead – including innocent men, women and children – state Republican political parties including Florida, Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana have taken to social media over the last few days to express their outrage and offer support of Israel.
On Saturday, Christian Ziegler, chairman of the Florida Republican Party issued a statement in all capital letters that said,
“THE STATE OF ISRAEL – OUR STRONGEST ALLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST, IF NOT THE WORLD – IS UNDER ATTACK.
THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF FLORIDA STANDS WITH THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND SUPPORTS PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU AS HE DEFENDS HIS COUNTRY.
MAY GOD – ONCE AGAIN – WATCH OVER THE STATE OF ISRAEL.”
Ziegler then went on his personal X account and posted,
“The @FloridaGOP stands with Israel and Prime Minister @Netanyahu as they defend themselves from the animals attacking their country.
Israel doesn’t just have a right, but they have a responsibility to respond with overwhelming force to these horrific attacks on their beautiful land and incredible people.”
It’s also been reported that Hamas terrorists massacred 260 people who were attending an Israeli music festival in the desert on Saturday as witnesses say the armed men killed concertgoers execution style.
The Wisconsin GOP also shared a message on X on Saturday that said,
“Pray for Israel.”
The Iowa GOP didn’t mince words on Saturday either, posting on X,
“Pray for Israel’s safety against an onslaught of terrorism.”
On Sunday morning, the Indiana Republican Party posted a statement on X, writing,
“Hoosiers stand together in support of Israel.”
And what does the Illinois Republican Party have to say? Absolutely nothing – choosing to post about the migrant crisis in Chicago instead of what every other state political organization is talking about – Republican and Democrat – and that’s support for Israel following a ruthless and brutal attack at the hands of terrorists.
On Sunday, the IL GOP retweeted RNC Research’s post highlighting Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s interview on Face the Nation where he’s discussing the migrant crisis and the upcoming Democratic National Convention in August of next year.
Embattled IL GOP chair Don Tracy has also been silent – and the only outrage Tracy seems to have is aimed at US Rep. Matt Gaetz, (R-FL) for ousting his friend Kevin McCarthy from the speakership.
Tracy doesn’t use social media channels to get his own messages to the masses – choosing to use his weekly chairman’s memo that’s e-mailed every Friday evening instead.
X is one of the most viewed platforms in the world, and just last month, Elon Musk posted that their monthly users topped over 550 million people.
The last post on Tracy’s X account was on February 4, 2010, where he posted,
“Apologies for not reporting on the election. Didn’t win but proud of our effort. Thank you.”
Appears some things never change.
