This week, Rush announced that they would be reinstating a mask mandate for their Chicagoland hospitals, citing a rise in COVID, flu and RSV cases.
In a statement on their website, Rush announced,
“Due to increased levels of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses such as flu and RSV, we are requiring patients, visitors and staff to wear hospital-approved masks in some areas of our campuses.”
The mask mandate applies to three area hospitals including Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora and Rush Oak Park Hospital.
In addition to the mask mandate, Rush is also restricting the number of visitors a patient can have in their rooms.
Health experts are reporting that COVID hospitalizations are on the rise in Illinois and residents can expect additional mask mandates to return throughout the state.
