On Wednesday, an Arizona grand jury indicted 18 people associated with President Donald Trump for allegedly interfering with the 2020 election – as the 45th President of the United States is named as an “unindicted co-conspirator.” The 58-page indictment includes felony counts of conspiracy, fraud and forgery.
The indictment names 18 people, but seven of the names are redacted, including former Trump lawyer Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.. The names not redacted include former AZ GOP chair Kelli Ward, Turning Point USA chief operating officer and RNC national committeeman Tyler Bowyer. As the indictment alleges,
“Defendants and unindicted coconspirators schemed to prevent the lawful transfer of the presidency to keep Unindicted Coconspirator 1 in office against the will of Arizona’s voters.”
Arizona’s Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the indictment on Wednesday, saying,
“A state grand jury made up of everyday regular Arizonans, has now handed down felony indictments for all 11 Republican electors as well as several others connected to this team. These are serious indictments, but this is the first hurdle the state must pass in our constitutional criminal justice system.”
