The State of Washington’s been run by Progressive Democrats for many years, but finally people are waking up and it seems as if some good, meaningful changes are happening there. If it can happen there, it can happen in Illinois and other blue states too.
The three initiatives which have now been voted into law by The WA State House will go into effect on June 7, 2024. These initiatives which were approved by the mostly Democratic legislature can not be vetoed by the Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee.
–Initiative 2111 – prevents the state from implementing a state income tax
–Initiative 2113 – removes restrictions when the police can engage in vehicular pursuit.
–Initiative 2081 – returns common sense parental rights as to children’s education, medical treatments and opting out of topics relating to sexual activity.
The other three initiatives on the ballot this November are:
–Initiative 2109 – repeals capital gains excise tax on gains over $250.000
–Initiative 2117 – prohibits carbon tax credit trading and repeals other provisions of earlier misguided climate-oriented legislation.
–Initiative 2114 – allows people to opt out of paying taxes and receiving benefits in the WA Cares program (similar to public aid programs in Illinois).
The initiatives are being spearheaded by a Conservative non-profit group called Let’s Go Washington. Just as is the case in Illinois, Washington state’s legislature holds a progressive Democratic majority much like the state of Illinois.
Illinois and the other blue states would be better served if similar organizations existed. “We the people” deserve to be heard by our legislative bodies regardless of which party is in charge.
