On Tuesday morning, the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, was reporting that 1 billion people had already viewed his historic interview on X Spaces with President Donald Trump – shattering every record in history as the Kamala Harris campaign melted down over social media’s epic evening.
At 1:35 AM ET, just hours after the historic discussion, X was reporting that, “Between 7:47 PM and 10:47 PM ET, President Donald Trump’s Space post received 73 million views. During the same period, there were 4 million posts about Elon Musk and President Trump’s conversation on X, generating a total of 998 million views.” Musk, who has a networth of $240.7B, then posted on his personal account in the early morning hours that, “Combined views of the conversation with @realDonaldTrump and subsequent discussion by other accounts now ~1 billion.”
The former president sounded relaxed as he reflected on the assassination attempt, telling Musk that the incident strengthened his faith in God, even joking about the chart on illegal immigration that was on the jumbotron that he credits for saving his life.
“Illegal immigration saved my life,” the former president joked.
Trump, who rarely uses charts during his rallies, had turned to look up at the chart when the assassin pulled the trigger – causing the bullet to miss his head and strike his ear instead.
“I’ll be sleeping with that chart. It was very important for a lot of reasons.”
The Republican nominee for president said that he’ll be returning to Butler, Pennsylvania for another rally in September, and that he plans to continue his speech right where he left off – suggesting the first line of his speech would be,
“As I was saying after being so horribly interrupted.”
Trump also stated that as president, he would eliminate the U.S. Department of Education and shift control back over to the states. Republican presidents since Ronald Reagan have been talking about eliminating the department, but Trump is committed to actually doing it. Many believe, including Trump, that education should be decided at the local level instead of bureaucrats in Washington who know nothing about the local communities and are the mouthpieces for liberal teachers unions, making all the decisions that affect children.
During the nearly 2-hour discussion, Trump singled out Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who is a campaign surrogate for Kamala Harris and the host of this year’s Democratic National Convention – calling him “incompetent.”
“Illinois is badly run by Pritzker. He’s a real loser. So many people are leaving Illinois. How do they survive?”
Since 2022, three major Chicago businesses have left Illinois, including Citadel, Boeing and Caterpillar, as they seek more pro-business friendly states to set up their new headquarters. In September 2022, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski gave a speech at the Economic Club in Chicago where he talked about how the crime in Chicago was hurting their recruiting efforts.
“Everywhere I go, I’m confronted by the same question: ‘What’s going on in Chicago?’ There is a general sense out there that our city is in crisis.”
Kempczinski went on to say that, “Truth is, it’s more difficult for me to recruit a new employee to McDonald’s to join us in Chicago than it was in the past.”
The conversation was tailored towards moderate Democrats and Independents, as Musk highlighted several times during the interview. And the discussion, which centered around policies that affect minority communities, crime-ridden, Democratic-controlled cities and families – caused the Harris campaign to go into meltdown mode.
“Right now, Elon Musk is interviewing Donald Trump live on Twitter (we’re not calling it “X”).
It’s not enough that Musk has pledged to donate millions of dollars to help reelect Trump. He’s using his purchased platform – one of the largest social media sites in the world – to spread Trump’s unhinged and hateful agenda to millions of users.”
Trump promised to return to X Spaces for another interview with Musk.
