The Freedom’s Journal Institute (FJI) for the Study of Faith and Public Policy – an Illinois-based nonprofit organization designed to “advance the Kingdom of God through socio-political, education and engagement,” is hosting their annual Black Conservative Summit beginning this Friday, as national conservative political figures headline the 3-day conference.
The summit, which takes place at Insight Church in Tinley Park, is expected to draw hundreds of attendees from across the country. The agenda, which includes the tagline, “Black America at a Crossroads: Cultural Marxism vs. A Biblical Worldview,” is timely, just months before a historic presidential election in November.
The 3-day conference, which begins on Friday and ends on Sunday, incluses breakout sessions throughout the day and keynote speakers in the evening. On Saturday evening, U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-NC) will headline the dinner program after a private VIP meet-and-greet, which will include special guest and Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts.
In 2019, President Donald Trump selected Ricketts to serve as Finance Chairman for Trump Victory. Ricketts was also listed as a co-chair for the Palm Beach fundraiser last April that raised a record $50.5 million for President Trump’s presidential campaign.
In 2011, Dr. Eric Wallace and his wife, Jennifer, founded FJI. Dr. Wallace serves as president, while his wife Jennifer, is the senior fellow for marriage and family life.
The Black Conservative Summit (BCS) is an annual event designed to bring together national, state, and local leaders to discuss prominent issues facing today’s society on a national stage. In the past, keynote speakers have included Ken Blackwell, Larry Elderand former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
