On Saturday, Ill. Gov. JB Pritzker (D) made a promise to Illinoisans in a post on X that the Land of Lincoln would continue to offer sex change operations to children and adults and that he has their “ back.”
“This Transgender Awareness Week, I want you to know that I see you and have your back as governor. Illinois has enshrined protections for gender-affirming care to meet this moment — and because of that, you will have a home here always.”
An estimated 20 states, including Illinois, California, Colorado, New York and Pennsylvania have put measures in place that both protect and expand transgender health care services, including for minors.
Last February, Illinois State Rep. Anne Stava-Murray (D-Naperville) – an ally of Pritzker – introduced legislation that made it a crime for parents to deny a minor child’s access to gender transition and abortion services, calling it “child abuse.” But in March, that legislation was blocked after parents rights group advocate and Awake Illinois founder Shannon Adcock led a statewide effort to oppose the legislation. Offices were bombarded with phone calls and messages from angry parents within hours of the bill being introduced.
Under Pritzker’s leadership, biological males can compete with females in school or club sports, and restrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms are not to be restricted based upon a person’s anatomy – meaning biological males can share private spaces with females.
During the presidential campaign, President Donald Trump vowed to end gender-affirming care for minors.
“The left-wing gender insanity being pushed at our children is an act of child abuse. Very simple.” Trump also promised to “stop the chemical, physical and emotional mutilation of our youth.”
On November 5th, President Trump – the 45th and now 47th President of the United States – stunned the political elites – winning both the electoral college and popular vote – marking one of the greatest political feats in history as Vice President Kamala Harris underperformed in virtually every county across the country. The historic mandate also saw Republicans regain control of the U.S. Senate and maintain their majority in the House – marking a clean sweep across the board.
