Legendary Republican strategist and political icon Roger Stone welcomes Illinois Review editor-in-chief Mark Vargas to the hit podcast, The StoneZONE – where he’ll share co-host duties beginning after the new year.
“In 2020, after I was indicted on false and fake charges in the now-discredited Mueller Witch Hunt, Mark Vargas was one of the people that I reached out to help me navigate the legal and political waters in my fight for freedom,” said Stone. “Mark is a respected political strategist with deep insights on the inner workings of Washington, and I am delighted to welcome him to The StoneZone family as one of my weekday co-hosts alongside the great editor-in-chief of Slingshot.News Troy Smith, one of the fastest growing alternative media outlets in the country.”
Stone, who has served as a senior campaign aide to three Republican presidents – Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump – hosts The StoneZONE Monday – Friday at 8 pm EST on Rumble and on Stone Cold Truth in both video and podcast form. Vargas will share co-host duties with Slingshot.News editor Troy Smith starting in January.
An outspoken libertarian, Stone is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Man Who Killed Kennedy: The Case Against LBJ, The Clinton’s War on Women, The Bush Crime Family, and The Making of the President 2016 – How Donald Trump Orchestrated a Revolution, and Stone’s Rules: How to Win at Politics, Business, and Style.
The political icon has remained a close ally and confidante to President Donald Trump since 1978 – and the two men are seen regularly together at events and at the president’s Palm Beach, Florida estate Mar-a-Lago. The president often shares Stone’s posts on his personal Truth Social account.
In 2019, Stone was indicted on fabricated charges in the now-discredited Mueller witch hunt and was subjected to a Soviet-style show trial in Washington, DC. Roger’s First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendment rights were violated, but fortunately, his sentence was commuted by President Donald J. Trump as an act of justice and mercy on July 10, 2020, and he was pardoned on December 23, 2020.
Vargas, a former Chicago radio host, is editor-in-chief of Illinois Review – the leading perspective and source of conservative news, opinion and information in Illinois. Vargas is also a Newsmax columnist and is seen regularly on Newsmax TV providing commentary on the day’s breaking news.
